Ram Rahim, 4 others held guilty in Ranjit Singh murder case

Dera chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh along with four others held guilty in the Ranjit Singh murder case by the Special CBI court of Panchkula on Friday. Panchkula CBI Special Court Judge Sushil Garg pronounced Ram Rahim and Jasbir Singh, Sabdil Singh, Krishan Lal, Inder Sain guilty in the murder case. According to information, the quantum of punishment will be announced on October 12. He was shot dead near his fields in Khanpur Kolian village of Kurukshetra district on July 10, 2002. On November 10, 2003, the HC had ordered CBI investigation in the case. As per CBI, Jasbir Singh, Sabdil Singh, Krishan Lal, Inder Sain, and Dera chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh were nominated as accused. Dera chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh taken to AIIMS in Delhi for tests- The  New Indian Express According to the CBI charge sheet, the Dera chief suspected Ranjit Singh of circulating an anonymous letter among the Dera followers. The contents of the letter accused Dera chief of sexually exploiting women followers (Sadhvis) inside the Dera. This was the same letter, which Sirsa-based journalist, Ram Chander Chhatrapati, highlighted in his news report. Chhatrapati was subsequently killed. The Dera chief was recently convicted on murder charges in the Chhatrapati murder case. -PTC News
