Punjab: Shiromani Akali Dal President Sukhbir Singh Badal deputed senior SAD leaders Prof Prem Singh Chandumajra and Dr Daljit Singh Cheema to attend an all-party meeting on Monday over the extension of BSF jurisdiction in Punjab. "SAD President Sukhbir Singh Badal has deputed Prof Prem Singh Chandumajra and Dr Daljit Singh Cheema to attend tomorrow’s all-party meeting on the extension of the area of jurisdiction of BSF up to 50 Km of the international border," Cheema tweeted on Sunday.

Shiromani Akali Dal on Twitter: “The unilateral decision of the Centre to exponentially increase the territorial jurisdiction of the BSF in Punjab is an outright attack on the federal structure imbibed in the very essence of our constitution. This needs to be dealt with at a level above partisan lines,” he had tweeted. Also, he had urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to review the Centre’s directive extending BSF jurisdiction to over 50km from the international border of Punjab.
