Arvind Kejriwal expected to disclose 'major revelation' in Delhi Excise Policy case today: Key Highlights
PTC News Desk: Sunita Kejriwal, the wife of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, announced in a public address that Mr. Kejriwal is poised to reveal significant information regarding the alleged Delhi liquor policy scam today. Currently detained by the Enforcement Directorate, Mr. Kejriwal's revelation is highly anticipated.
1. Arvind Kejriwal was apprehended by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) last week in connection with an alleged money laundering case linked to the defunct Delhi liquor policy. With his custody set to expire today, the probe agency is expected to seek an extension at the Rose Avenue court.
2. Mr. Kejriwal is currently being held in the lock-up at the ED's Delhi office.
3. The Delhi High Court dismissed the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader's plea challenging his arrest, granting the probe agency time until April 2 to present their case.
4. The ED alleges that the now-defunct policy offered disproportionately high profit margins, with nearly 185% for retailers and 12% for wholesalers. A significant portion of the latter, amounting to over ₹600 crore, purportedly served as bribes and allegedly funded electoral campaigns in Goa and Punjab.
5. Sunita Kejriwal stated that her husband would disclose crucial details regarding the "so-called Delhi liquor policy case."
6. She hinted that Mr. Kejriwal would reveal the whereabouts of funds linked to the alleged liquor scam.

7. Sunita Kejriwal also criticised the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for its attacks on Mr. Kejriwal following his directives to Atishi and Saurabh Bhardwaj, the city's Public Works and Health Ministers.
8. Despite his detention, the AAP maintains that Mr. Kejriwal will continue to serve as Delhi's Chief Minister. He has issued two directives from his confinement earlier this week.
9. BJP leaders have vigorously protested against this stance, organising demonstrations across Delhi and demanding Mr. Kejriwal's resignation.
10. The United States and Germany have weighed in on Mr. Kejriwal's arrest, urging India to ensure a "fair, transparent" investigation.
