Bhupinder Hooda unveils election pledges at Hisar Rally, including early OPS implementation

Hisar, August 21: As the anticipation for next year's Haryana Assembly elections intensifies, Bhupinder Hooda, former Chief Minister of the state and a prominent figure within the Congress party, unveiled a comprehensive array of electoral pledges during a rally in Hisar. One standout promise is the swift enactment of the Old Pension Scheme (OPS) during the inaugural cabinet meeting, should the Congress secure victory in the state.

Hooda, addressing a fervent crowd at the "Vipaksh Aapke Samaksh" rally, assured citizens that if his party assumes power, substantial enhancements await those currently dependent on pension support. The elderly, in particular, are poised to benefit from an elevated monthly pension of Rs 6000. Another groundbreaking promise involves making gas cylinders available for just Rs 500, a move aimed at alleviating the financial burden on households.

Furthermore, Hooda extended his commitment to socio-economic progress by vowing to allocate 100-yard plots to families belonging to Scheduled Castes (SCs) and other marginalized sections of society. This gesture seeks to enhance access to land ownership and empower historically underserved communities.

The visionary leader also unveiled a spectrum of policies designed to invigorate different sectors of the state's economy. Hooda conveyed his intention to elevate the income threshold for the creamy layer within the backward classes, ensuring that a larger segment can access various benefits. Artisans affiliated with the Vishwakarma Karigar Yojana would receive loans at an attractive sub-5% interest rate, fostering their entrepreneurial pursuits.

Young individuals grappling with unemployment concerns received a ray of hope through Hooda's promise of generating 2 lakh permanent job opportunities. Demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of citizens' needs, Hooda assured a Minimum Support Price (MSP) guarantee, a measure set to bolster the agricultural sector.

Hooda's blueprint for progress also encompasses a focus on addressing energy poverty. Under his administration, impoverished families would receive 300 units of electricity without charge, a move that could potentially ameliorate living conditions for a substantial portion of the population.

The highlight of Hooda's policy agenda remains the swift implementation of the Old Pension Scheme (OPS), an initiative he vowed to enact during the very first cabinet meeting. This move underscores the priority Hooda places on providing financial security to the elderly and demonstrates his administration's commitment to swift and decisive governance.

In his address, Hooda did not shy away from critiquing the incumbent Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government at both the central and state levels. Highlighting a concerning trajectory, he expressed his dismay over the state's transition from being a leader in law and order, per capita income, and investment to becoming a state grappling with rising crime rates and corruption over the last nine years.

Hooda's candid assessment of the state's current condition included referencing its mounting debt, now reaching a staggering Rs 4.5 lakh crore. He voiced the growing discontent of citizens across various strata of society, emphasizing the disillusionment faced by individuals due to the perceived absence of essential services like education, healthcare, and effective public administration.

As the political landscape in Haryana evolves and the upcoming elections draw nearer, Hooda's promises resonate as a potential roadmap for reinvigorating the state's socio-economic fabric. Time will tell if his vision for a more prosperous and equitable Haryana will find favor with the voting populace.
