Punjab: 'Ravan Dahan' spectacle lights up Mohali's Wave Estate with unity and celebration
Mohali, October 24: In a grand spectacle at Wave Estate, Sector 85, Mohali, a massive gathering assembled for the annual Ravan Dahan event, with a significant police presence ensuring its smooth execution. The event featured the reenactment of the final scenes of the Ramayana before the effigy of Ravan was set ablaze.
The event was a sight to behold, featuring the towering effigy of Ravan, complete with intricate details and adorned with bright colours. As the sun set on the horizon, a hushed anticipation swept through the crowd, awaiting the moment when the effigy would be set ablaze.
Prior to the symbolic burning of Ravan, the gathering was treated to a series of captivating performances, including reenactments of key scenes from the epic Ramayana. The volunteers who took part in the elaborate reenactment added a touch of authenticity to the event, evoking the timeless tale of Lord Rama's triumph over the demon king Ravan.
As the effigy of Ravan was set ablaze in a blaze of glory, the crowd erupted in cheers, marking the symbolic triumph of good over evil. The resounding applause and enthusiastic shouts of "Jai Shri Ram" echoed through the evening, creating a sense of unity and shared celebration.
Rajinder Singh Khalsa, president of the Singh Sabha Gurdwara Committee, Wave Estate, Sector 85, and committee members graced the occasion with their presence. Rajinder Singh Khalsa conveyed a message of Hindu-Sikh brotherhood, emphasising the importance of unity and harmony among the two communities.
