India reports 9,111 new Covid cases with total of 60,313
Covid update: India reported 9,111 new coronavirus cases on Monday, bringing the total to 60,313. 27 deaths were recorded, bringing the death toll to 5,31,141.
6 deaths were reported from Gujarat, 4 from Uttar Pradesh, 3 each from Delhi and Rajasthan, 2 from Maharashtra, 1 each from Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu, and 3 reconciled by Kerala.

The Covid case tally is now at 4.47 crore (4,48,27,226) with a daily positivity rate of 8.40 per cent. The active cases comprise 0.13 per cent of the total infections and the national COVID-19 recovery rate is 98.68 per cent. 4,42,35,772 people have recuperated from the disease, and the case fatality rate is 1.19 per cent.
Dr Randeep Guleria, the former director of AIIMS Delhi said the situation is not one to induce panic. The government has urged people to follow Covid norms and 220.66 crore doses of Covid vaccine have been administered in the country so far under the nationwide vaccination drive.
