'Refrain from publishing false, manipulated content': Govt advisory for media for Ram Temple event
PTC News Desk: The government on Saturday issued an advisory for the coverage of the Ram Temple event, asking media outlets and social media platforms to refrain from publishing false and manipulated content related to the grand ceremony.
The Ram Temple will be inaugurated on January 22 with a grand ceremony featuring Lord Ram Lalla's pran-pratishtha. The pre-consecration rituals began one week before D-Day, on January 16. Ahead of the ceremony, several fraudulent links claiming to provide VIP tickets and Ram Temple prasad are circulating on social media.

The advisory issued by the Information and Broadcasting Ministry stated that “certain unverified, provocative and fake messages were being spread, especially on social media, which can disturb communal harmony and public order”.
"Further, as part of their due diligence obligations, social media platforms are advised to make reasonable efforts to not host, display or publish information of the nature mentioned above."
The consecration of the Ram Lalla idol in Ayodhya will take place on January 22, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other dignitaries in attendance.
