PTC Web Desk: Congress leader Supriya Shrinate, has expressed her flayed of social media users who have been trolling actress Deepika Padukone for her comments on open relationships. Deepika Padukone and her husband Ranveer Singh made an appearance on the debut episode of Season 8 of Karan Johar's 'Koffee With Karan,' during which they discussed their relationship and Deepika's past struggles with anxiety and depression.

Deepika shared that when she and Ranveer Singh began dating, she wasn't initially committed to him and had been seeing other men. She mentioned that she wanted to stay single for a while due to her previous difficult relationships.

"I wanted to be single for a while because I had come from difficult relationships. I was going through a phase where I said 'I just don't want to be attached, don't want to be committed.' And I had fun! And then he comes along, so I didn't commit until he proposed to me. There was no 'commitment as such. Even if we were technically allowed to see other people, we would just keep coming back to each other," said Deepika adukone.

Since sharing these details, Deepika has been subjected to a wave of online trolling.

Supriya Shrinate, describing Deepika as a "super achiever," commended the actress for opening up about her mental health struggles. She noted that by sharing her experiences, Deepika has inspired many others to confront the often-ignored issue of mental health.

Shrinate criticised the trolls for engaging in character assassination, emphasizing that instead of appreciating the couple's courage in discussing these important issues, they have subjected Deepika to vicious trolling and the circulation of vulgar memes.
