This Buddhist Temple in Thailand is made out of beer bottles

A temple and alcohol do not exactly go together, let alone imagining one made of beer bottles! However this Buddhist Temple in Thailand does change facts for us as the complete temple is made up of beer bottles. The idea came up when in 1984, Buddhist monks, who were fed up of the ever-mounting litter in the sea, started collecting empty bottles of beer to build the temple complex. It is entirely made up of more than a million bottles of Heineken and a local beer named Chang. The bottles never lose colour and provide good lighting inside the temple complex. Their preferred choice? Green bottles from Heineken and brown ones from the local Thai beer Chang. Sounds like an eco-friendly move Buddha would approve too!
