While the total number of active cases in Punjab has crossed 2000-mark, Jalandhar reported 32 new cases of coronavirus on Thursday. According to the information, the new cases include Shahkot SDM Sanjeev Kumar and a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) of Punjab Police.
Earlier, a 54-year-old man died due to coronavirus pandemic. He was a resident of Sultanpur Lodhi. He was admitted to the civil hospital in Jalandhar.
On Wednesday, Mohali SDM was tested positive for coronavirus. Mohali reported 6 new cases of coronavirus on Thursday taking the total number of cases in the district to 337.
According to the information, a 62-year-old man from Sector 127, a 68-year-old man from Sector 97, a 42-year-old man from Sector 78, a 30-year-old man from Sector 80, a 32-year-old man from Zirakpur and a 19-year-old youth from Dappar tested positive for coronavirus.
The coronavirus cases in Punjab have been rising ever since the government started announcing relaxations in the restrictions imposed during the lockdown. Since Punjab government announced weekend lockdowns in an order to curb the spread of coronavirus, there are people who are raising questions about it.
