First Look: Vicky Kaushal dons the character of Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw
After doing films like Raazi and Uri: The Surgical Strike, Vicky Kaushal is all set to don the character of an Army officer. In a first look released by Meghna Gulzar, Vicky Kaushal is giving an intense life to the character of Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw. The film is yet to be titled. The poster of Vicky Kaushal as a Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw is giving the hype of Uri: The Surgical Strike in which he played the character with so perfection that he was heavily applauded for the same.

Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw was the first Indian Army officer to be promoted to the rank of Field Marshal. Manekshaw led the Indian Army to victory in East Pakistan is heavily praised for the victory over Pakistan in 19871 war. Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw passed away on June 27, 2008, at the age of 94. Hence, Meghna Gulzar has shared the poster here on Friday, which is marked as the Sam Manekshaw Death Anniversary.
Meghna Gulzar announced the film in 2017 stating the film will not be a biopic. She said that the film will be made on the life of Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw but it will not a biopic, just like Raazi. She just wants to showcase the life of Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw. Releasing the first look of Vicky Kaushal, she said and I quote, "A Soldier’s Soldier. A Gentleman’s Gentleman. In remembrance, on the death anniversary of Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw. It is my honor to tell the story of one of India's greatest war heroes, with @vickykaushal09 essaying the historic man!"
