Hemkund Sahib To Open for devotees On 25th May: Sacred pilgrimage Hemkund Sahib will be open for devotees from May 25 this year. Devotees can visit here for about six months.   Every year millions of pilgrims from all over India and abroad arrive here. In 2017, one lakh 29 thousand 900 pilgrims had visited the sacred pilgrimage. Hemkund Sahib to open for devotees on 25th May   Charakjit Singh Bindra, the local president of Hemkund Gurudwara Rishikesh and former chairman of the Uttarakhand Minority Commission, said that on 25th of May at 12:00 noon the famous Hemkund Sahib Gurudwara kapat will be opened for the devotees. Hemkund Sahib to open for devotees on 25th May   The Gurdwara Sahib is dedicated to the tenth Sikh Guru Guru Govind Singh, the kapat of the Gurudwara, opens during the month of May. Last year the portals were opened on May 24. This shrine is covered in snow and ice for 6 months. Hemkund Sahib is located in Chamoli district. This is a famous pilgrim place for Sikhs and Hindus as it has also a temple dedicated to Laxman, brother of Lord Ram. This sacred site is located between the seven mountains on the banks of a freezing lake at an altitude of 4632 meters (15,200 ft). -PTC News
