Maha: 3 sentenced to life in prison for gang-raping teen Maharashtra Court on Friday sentenced three convicts to undergo life imprisonment for gang-raping a newlywed girl. The gang-rape took place on August 17, 2014, at the newly-wed’s marital home in Bhiwandi. Also Read: Cracks on Rajiv Gandhi flyover in Thane; closed for traffic The convicts have been recognized as Naveen Ashok Bagade (43), Santosh Yashwant Shelke (22) and Rajkumar Tikeshwar Sahani (29). They were convicted under Section 376D and 542 of the Indian Penal Code. According to media sources, all three convicts were from Mithpada in Bhiwandi. During the early hours of August 17, 2014, the 4 convicts barged into their home and assaulted the victim’s husband. They took turns to rape the victim.
