Pakistan: Man thrashed by first wife at his third wedding
A Pakistani man was thrashed by his first wife who gate crashed his third wedding. The man was rescued by the police after his third wife brutally thrashed him and tore up his clothes in front of guests.
The man has been identified as Asif Rafiq while his third wife has been identified as Madiha. The Express Tribune reported that Madiha and her relatives’ gate crashed the wedding reception venue in Karachi’s Sakhi Hassan Chowrangi area on Monday night. They claimed that Madiha was married to Asif in 2014.
As per report, Madiha claimed that Rafiq married another woman, a Jinnah University employee, without her consent. Madiha also said that Asif had apologised to her after she objected to his second marriage. However, Rafiq had promised to stay only with Madiha.
The report said that Madiha and her family thrashed him during the reception and tore his clothes adding that the police also beat him up after he was detained. Afterwards, Asif tried to escape from the police station but he was chased by Madiha's family, forcing him to hide in the parked bus.
However, he was caught and beaten up again before being rescued by some people. Meanwhile, Rafiq stated that he had divorced Madiha and hence he does not require anyone's consent to remarry, adding that it is his right to marry four women at the same time.

Meanwhile, the police asked Asif and Madiha to go to the court as it was a civil dispute. The police will now register a case over thrashing of Asif Rafiq after a medical examination.
