National Sports Day: PM Narendra Modi salutes Indian athletes for hardwork Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday salutes Indian Athletes for Hard work they are putting in, in the ongoing Asian Games. He said that this year is really great for Indian Sports as country’s athletes have excelled in various tournaments. He lauded sportsperson on National Sports Day. He also asked the general people of India to give priority to sports and fitness-related activities. It will contribute towards a healthier India. Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted, “I salute all those who have represented India in various sporting events. Their hard work and resolve have led to several milestones. This year has been great for our sporting fraternity, with the Indian athletes excelling in various tournaments including the Asian Games 2018 and CWG.” He paid tributes to Dhyan Chand, a hockey Legend, whose birthday is celebrated as the National Sports Day. Many other famous sports legends also tweeted on this day and paid their tributes to Hockey Legend, Dhyan Chand.
