Republic Day violence probe: Accused Iqbal Singh and Deep Sidhu taken to Red Fort

Accused Iqbal Singh and Deep Sidhu, arrested by the Delhi Police in connection with the violence on Republic Day, were on Saturday taken to the Red Fort to recreate the incident as part of the probe. Before taking them to the national monument the Delhi Police also took Deep Sidhu to the route that they took to reach the iconic monument on Republic Day. According to the Police officials, both Iqbal Singh and Deep Sidhu, during the probe, were shown the route that they took to reach Red Fort on Republic Day when the national capital had witnessed violence during the farmers' tractor march. Reportedly, Deep Sidhu was arrested on February 9 in Haryana. Later in the day, a court sent him to seven-day police custody. The police alleged that Deep Sidhu was one of the main instigators of the Republic Day violence at the Red Fort.
