PM Modi's reply in Rajya Sabha to the Motion of Thanks on the President’s Address
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday replied in Rajya Sabha to the Motion of Thanks on the President’s Address. PM Modi said that "To be honest, I was a disappointed with some of the remarks made here. Some of the members have made stagnation a virtue. They were stuck in the same old ways. They are talking about the same old things of the past."
PM Modi in Rajya Sabha stated that "Ghulam Nabi Azad ji said the decisions on Jammu and Kashmir were taken without any kind of discussion, which is not correct. The entire nation witnessed the detailed discussions for the same. The Member of Parliments have voted in favour of the decisions."
"People do not forget things easily. I want to remind the Leader of the Opposition, Ghulam Nabi Azad, in the Rajya Sabha, about the way in which proceedings regarding the creation of Telangana took place, doors were closed and live telecast was prohibited."

Talking about the issue of Jammu and Kashmir, PM Modi said that "For the first time in decades, people of Jammu and Kashmir got benefits of the reservation. There were Blocked Development Council polls, Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act came into being there. Also, an anti-corruption bureau was set up there."
Slamming Rajya Sabha MP Vaiko. PM Modi said that "Vaiko ji said, August 5, 2019 was a black day for Jammu and Kashmir. Vaiko ji, it was not a black day for Jammu and Kashmir, it was a black day for those who promoted terrorism and separatism."

Meanwhile, PM Modi added that "Plight of the Bru refugees was pitiable. Yet, the party which ruled most parts of the Northeast for decades and party that ruled Tripura for decades did nothing. It was our Government that solved this major problem." "North-East is no more ignored, it is peaceful now," PM Modi said.
