Seven dead in eight-storey building in Paris
At least seven people died and 27 others were injured after a major fire broke out in a building on the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday in Paris. The fire broke out in the 16th arrondissement, an eight-storey building in Paris. Three firefighters were also among 27 people who were injured in the fire.

More than 250 firefighters were deployed to douse the fire and to rescue the people. The fire crews rescued the people who rushed to the nearby roofs to escape the smoke and flames. The firefighters battled with the blaze and treated the injured till the early hours of Tuesday.

According to the media sources, the fire crews evacuated the block on Erlanger Street and several surrounding buildings. The area is a very famous tourist spot. It has very famous landmarks like Trocadero overlooking the Eiffel Tower, the Bois de Bologne, upmarket shops and restaurants.
