Students of PGGC, Chandigarh injured after clash between two parties

Three students of Post Graduate Government College (PGGC), Sector 46, were seriously injured after two student parties clashed at the college on Thursday afternoon. An argument between members of the Student Organisation of India (SOI) and the National Students Union of India (NSUI) escalated after which the clash broke out near the college canteen. At least 12 boys are said to have been involved, out of whom Ved Prakash, a BA-II student, Amandeep, a BA-I student, and Pradeep are reported to have been seriously injured. The injured students were taken to the Government Medical College and Hospital, Sector 32. According to the police, they did not receive any complaint from any student nor from the college authorities. However, they have obtained the CCTV footage from the campus and will take action after identifying the accused. College Principal JK Sehgal claimed that the attackers were outsiders and not students of the college. The NSUI was pasting stickers and distributing these among freshers. SOI members were holding a meeting near the canteen area. As NSUI members approached the area, SOI members asked them not to come there, which led to the clash. -PTC News
