Rajmata’s ashes immersed Kiratpur Sahib: Amid chanting of hymns and prayers, Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh and his son Raninder Singh immersed the last mortal remains of Rajmata Mohinder Kaur in river Sutlej at Gurdwara Patalpuri Sahib, Kiratpur, this afternoon. Captain Amarinder stood with his son and other members of the erstwhile royal family, as Raninder performed the immersion ceremony at Asth Ghat. The chief minister led the family in offering Ardaas before the immersion. Captain Amarinder Singh's son-in-law Gurpal Singh, his grandsons Nirvan Singh and Yadhuinder Singh besides Harshdeep Singh Dhillon, son of Captain Amarinder's younger sister, also joined the family for immersion of the mortal remains of Rajmata. Captain Amarinder then went into the Gurdwara to offer prayers, before partaking langar in the Langar Hall. He was accompanied by his brother Malwinder, son Raninder, Speaker Punjab Vidhan Sabha Rana KP Singh, Health Minister Brahm Mahindra, Power and Irrigation Minister Rana Gurjit Singh, Welfare Minister Sadhu Singh Dharamsot, Rural development Minister Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa, MLAs Balbir Singh Sidhu, Rana Gurmit Singh Sodhi, Vijay Inder Singla, Dr. Raj Kumar, Kuljit Singh Nagra, Hardyal Singh Kamboj, Ramanjit Singh Sikki among others. Earlier, the family collected the last mortal remains of Rajmata Mohinder Kaur at the Shahi Samadhan in Patiala. Rajmata Mohinder was cremated at the Shahi Samadhan on Tuesday, a day after she passed away in Patiala following a prolonged illness. The family left their residence at the New Moti Bagh palace early this morning to collect the ashes of the Rajmata, with a large number of friends and ordinary citizens joining them on the way to Shahi Samadhan. At the cremation grounds, an emotional Captain Amarinder, joined by brother Malwinder Singh, son Raninder Singh and grandsons Nirvan Singh, Angad Singh and Yaduinder Singh, picked up the last remains of his mother. They later offered Ardaas (prayers) in memory of the departed soul. The ashes were then carried, in a flower-decked vehicle, to the holy Kirtapur for immersion. Raninder cradled the urn in his lap as the family, led by the chief minister, left Shahi Samadhan for Kiratpur. —PTC News
