Show Swachh bharat app, get free parking coupon in Chandigarh: Municipal Corporation has offered free parking from December 27 to New Year’s Eve to residents having the “Swachhata MoHUA app” on their mobile phones.
The MC has termed the offer as a New Year gift to the residents.

By showing the Swachh bharat app on the phones, residents will be able to collect free parking coupons from MC kiosks, which will be set up at entrances to all 58 parking lots, said MC officials. Earlier, the corporation was in the thirties on the ranking list. This year, the MC slipped to Rank 11 from Rank 2, mainly due to no app download and lack of online feedback.
One can just click a photo of a littered/uncleaned area and upload it on the Swachh bharat app , which would locate the littered area and send an alert to the local sanitary inspector, so that proper action is taken to clean the place.
In case, the sanitary inspector of the Municipal Corporation fails to get the place cleaned within two days, action would be taken against him by the authorities.
The Swachhata-MoHUA is the official app of Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs(MoHUA), GOI.
The app enables a citizen to post a civic-related issue (eg; a garbage dump) which is then forwarded to the city corporation concerned and thereafter assigned to the sanitary inspector of the particular ward.
